Seniors and Postgraduates
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) forms are available in the College Counseling Office. You can also file on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Helpful information about the form can be found at the FAFSA website, but you can also call 800-4-FED-AID to get your questions answered. Another helpful website is www.famemaine.com, sponsored by FAME (Finance Authority of Maine).

In addition to the FAFSA, a select number of private colleges require a CSS Profile Financial Aid Form. Profile Registration Guides are available in the College Counseling Office, but you must complete and submit the final form online at www.collegeboard.com.

Seniors should either be finished with or nearing the completion of their college applications. Many have January 15 deadlines. In addition, all applications due after the 15th must be submitted to the college counseling office by February 1.

As seniors receive their admission decisions (accept, deny or wait list), it is very important that they provide this information to Mr. Crumlish or Mr. Inglehart.

Scholarship Information: If you are interested in searching for scholarship opportunities, there are two valuable web resources with searchable databases: www.famemaine.com and www.fastweb.com.

Juniors
The college counseling team will hold college seminars for all juniors starting in February. Students will be required to attend four sessions covering the following topics:

  • Researching Schools
  • Visits and Interviews
  • The Application Process
  • How Applications are Read in the College Admissions Process

The sessions will be taught by Mr. MacLellan and Mr. Inglehart, and each student will receive a binder with handouts, notes pages, and a folder for keeping college papers together.
