Living and learning together harmoniously in a community is a foundation for Hebron Academy's residential life program, which places a strong emphasis on mutual respect, self-discipline, and concern for others. Faculty work to create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere that nurtures the needs of students, while they promote a healthy, safe, comfortable environment that is conducive to learning.

Students learn important skills that help prepare them for living on their own in college. At the start of the school year, faculty members from Hebron's Academic Support Center visit with students to discuss study habits. Dorm parents continually advise students on time management, healthy eating and sleep habits, self-care, and inter-personal communication.

Life in a dormitory includes:
  • Caring for "home" through student-led clean up and maintenance in the dorms, with rotating chores
  • Structured study halls to encourage proactive learning and strong academic habits
  • In room and lights out times (varies by grade level)
  • Periodic programs on health and safety
  • Fun activities, like make-your-own pizza night, cooking night, birthday celebrations, holiday gatherings
  • Contests, like the "cleanest room"
  • Community service projects
  • Special privileges for honor roll students
Day students are welcome to participate in dorm activities, including weekend trips, and can stay overnight in the dorms with permission.
