Hebron Academy's Community Service Program encourages students to recognize their responsibility to share their time and talents to support their community. There are several school-wide activities in the immediate community and beyond to which everyone contributes their time and talents. On campus, students lead workshops, tutor, or clean the grounds. In the fall, Upper School students begin Beach Day by tidying up local beaches and state parks. Seniors, who spend several days in leadership training and team-building exercises at a camp, return in the spring to help clean up winter debris.

During the school year, students, faculty, administration, and staff participate in various fundraising projects. Recently, the school community collected books for communities damaged by Hurricane Katrina, created and sold art works to raise money for projects in the Philippines, and organized a walk-a-thon to support an orphanage founded by Hebron Science teacher Janet Littlefield in Njata, Malawi.

Students may make a larger commitment to service with regular participation in an after-school community service activity. For example, students volunteer in an enrichment program at the Hebron Station Elementary School. One day a week, Hebron students mentor children, tutoring, playing games, and building connections. All Upper School students may participate one afternoon a week in place of their regular sports or other activity. (Varsity athletes are required to gain permission from their coaches.) This voluntary activity is growing in popularity, and all students are encouraged to participate.
