Hebron Academy's Upper School consists of boarding and day programs for students in grades 9-12, as well as students who enroll for a postgraduate year before attending college. Students are challenged and inspired to reach their highest potential in mind, body, and spirit through small classes, knowledgeable and caring teachers who provide individual attention, and a friendly, respectful, family-like atmosphere.
Hebron provides a wide range of academic offerings, arts, athletics, and activities. Explore this section of the web site to find out more about special programs, like Entrepreneurship & Leadership and Outdoor Education, about the personal guidance offered by the College Counseling Office, assistance provided by the Academic Support Center, and more.
Day-to-Day Life in the Upper School
Classes are held Monday through Friday with approximately six or seven Saturday class days spread throughout the school year. Most class days start with a morning meeting for daily announcements about the schedule for the day or items of general interest. Students meet with their advisors one morning each week. There is a Community Meeting every other Wednesday, when invited guests share their experiences on various topics.
Upper School students are expected to participate in an afternoon activity program which includes a range of interscholastic sports at the varsity and junior varsity levels, as well as an exciting Outdoor Education program. Non-athletic offerings such as drama, music, art and yearbook are also an option.
All boarding students participate in a nightly supervised study hall Sunday through Thursday.
