Hebron Academy celebrates diversity and welcomes international students from all over the world. Our community currently includes teenagers from Australia, Korea, Brazil, China, France, Spain, Ukraine, Germany, Japan, and Sweden.
Students choose Hebron Academy because we provide a balance of challenging academics, competitive athletics, fine and performing arts, a strong sense of community, and individualized attention for college placement. In preparation for college, students from abroad learn how to write “American- style” essays, how to work with teachers, and how to participate actively in seminar classes.
Our teachers, dorm parents, and college counselors have extensive experience working with international students. Students learn and build upon the foundations of English in ESL and English courses, learning to read, write about, and discuss college-level texts. For those students interested in attending college in the United States, college counselors begin the process of application during junior year, working closely with students to help them prepare their application lists and materials. They work with students and their families to find the best colleges and universities to match their skills, academic records, and interests. Hebron’s international students have received admission from such colleges and universities as Smith, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, the University of Michigan, the University of Illinois, and Cornell.
Our International Program Director works with students to support their transition to Hebron. The Director advises international students, assists families with travel and host family arrangements, and plans programs such as Orientation, American Thanksgiving, and international dinners.
Obtaining a secondary education abroad--particularly in the United States--can be a magnificent opportunity for growth. Please contact us today to find out more.
