1885 - Twenty-eight-year-old William E. Sargent becomes principal, ushering in a time of growth for the school.
1886 - Fund raising for a new Academy building begins.
1889 - The modern campus begins to take shape with Edward Dunham's donation of the "bog" and other land, and the Trustees' purchase of two additional parcels.
1891 - Sturtevant Hall dedicated.
1893 - Football begins.
1897 - Tuition is $8.00; board at Trustee House or the Bellevue is $2.25 per week, $2.00 if the student goes home on Friday.
1899 - The YMCA and YWCA enhance the school’s social and spiritual life.
1900 - Sturtevant Home dedicated.
1904 - Centennial celebrated at commencement.
1906 - Curriculum reorganized to offer three tracks: college, scientific and English.
1908 - Leslie Cameron ’08 publishes a fictionalized account of A Year at Hebron Academy.

1910 - Atwood Hall dedicated.
1914 - Freelan O. Stanley 1873 elected president of the Board of Trustees.
1915 - Nellie Whitman retires after 39 years at Hebron during which she served as preceptress and math teacher.
1918 - Three faculty men resign to enter the war.
1921 - Prof. Sargent suffers a debilitating stroke.
