Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice & Belonging
At Hebron Academy, we affirm diversity and difference by practicing shared responsibility for cultivating a sense of belonging for all. We encourage our students to express their full selves and varied identities with pride and assurance, while promoting the value of maintaining humility and respect for others’ identities and viewpoints.
Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJB) Coordinating Team collaborates on providing opportunities for learning, growth, support, and celebration across campus. We also have a DEI Advisory Council composed of devoted friends of Hebron Academy who provide additional advice and counsel.
We use “C.A.R.E.” as the acronym for guiding our DEIJB Initiatives here at Hebron:
C: Celebration & Community
A: Affirmation
R: Respect & Responsibility
E: Education & Engagement
Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives at Hebron Academy are made possible due to the generous support of alum Albert Lepage ‘65. Read more about the history of our DEI efforts here.
Our purpose statement "Rooted in Maine, We Cultivate Trailblazers" guides our efforts to encourage an inclusive and global mindset as we learn in and from the expansive awe-inspiring state of Maine.
