It has been wonderful to see the reunions and introductions happening across campus this week as students arrive on campus, settle in with roommates, compare schedules, and enthusiastically head to afternoon activities. Life has returned to Hebron.
Academically, students are getting used to the new schedule, including alternating lunch times and learning the responsibility and accountability needed to opt out of checking in for Free Blocks. Add-drop is in full swing and students are learning to manage their course load and homework planning.
We had our first college representative visit campus this week – next week is a busy one with visits from Bishop’s University, Bryant University, Providence College, University of Miami, Boston University, Swarthmore College, and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Check out the schedule on the Parent Resource Page in MyHebron to see the complete schedule for the fall.
In Morning Meeting this week, faculty took the time to introduce themselves to the community, and we had our first Beat the Beard contest (the students beat the faculty!). Next week, Last Word returns with speeches from our seniors.
In Advisory today, faculty are checking with students to ensure that they know how to navigate MyHebron to see their class schedules, class pages, and assignments. Parents can currently view this information as well. Reach out to the Mr. Andrew Crofton in our technology department if you are having difficulty logging on.
There are two home games this afternoon – all students and parents are invited to attend the start of our competitive sports season! See the athletic information from Mr. Brooks for the game schedule over the next few weeks.
