  3. Find the Proof of Insurance Form for Domestic Students
  4. Click Edit, then Clear answer
  5. Then answer yes to is your student a domestic student
  6. Then you can upload a copy if pdf form or a VERY clear picture in jpeg form

WINTER ACTIVITIES

Now that snow has finally fallen and the trails have been groomed, Mr. Tholen has a few reminders about equipment and trail use for students:

  1. Sleds are below Chadbourne in the sliding door. Adults must be present to unlock and supervise sledding on the Williams Center Hill.
  2. Anyone using equipment with metal edges, such as skis or snowboards, must wear a helmet.
  3. Snowshoes and XC Skis are upstairs in Chadbourne and must be signed out on the clipboard located just inside the door. Students may not go on the trail system without an adult.
  4. There is a Winter Trail Use map on myHebron. Please walk and snowshoe on the single track only. The groomed trails are for skiing.

Trail Report

Between the windstorm earlier this season and the warm weather, there is still plenty of open water on the trails and some very thin spots out there. The trails on the athletic fields are in the best shape of all the trails. The 5K loop (Eastern Prom and Western Way) also groomed up very nicely. The upper part of Old County is also fully groomed down to Grand Junction.

Overall, skate skiing on the fields will be excellent. The trails are better for touring on old "rock" skis. Stick to the corduroy.

Weekend Overnight Cross Country Ski Trip

All of this beautiful snow makes for some excellent XC skiing! Mr. Tholen is planning an overnight camping trip to the cabin, which is perfect for beginners and experienced skiers alike. The trip is limited to eight students, so don't wait to sign up. Email Mr. Tholen if you are interested.

Here is the trip itinerary:

  • Meet at 9:30 Saturday morning to size students for skis and hand out gear such as sleeping bags, food, packs, etc.
  • Mr. Tholen will deliver the gear to the cabin and start a fire in the woodstove while students have brunch
  • Reconvene at the Chadbourne at 12:30pm for an XC ski lesson. No experience necessary!
  • Campers ski down to the cabin, make dinner, have s'mores, and play cards/board games before turning in for the night
  • Get up Sunday morning, clean the cabin, pack the gear, and ski a little more before heading back for brunch on Sunday

Again, you do not need to be an experienced XC skier for this trip. Beginners are welcome. This trip is limited to eight students. Please email me if you are interested.

WINTER GAMES

Get ready for the Winter Games, scheduled for the weekend of February 3, 4, and 5. The Winter Games are Hebron’s version of the Winter Olympics and is an exciting weekend of competitive events where folks can earn points for their houses. The event schedule is still being finalized, but will feature activities such as bobsledding, chess, ice dancing, and snowman making.

The Winter Games are held on campus throughout the closed weekend of February 3 and will be facilitated by the weekend team and house captains. It is not mandatory but all adults and students are strongly encouraged to participate if around that weekend!
