In mid-November, a select group of Hebron students traveled to Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine for the Maine All-State Chorus auditions. The Maine All-State Chorus audition consisted of four parts: a solo song, learning a part in a madrigal (16th century 5 part song), sight singing and a scale.

Singers were judged on many criteria including posture/support, intonation, tone/placement, diction, dynamics/phrasing, notes/rhythms, part independence, rhythm, melody and overall presentation.

We are excited to share that all five students who auditioned were selected to be members of the Maine All-State Chorus!

The All-State Concert will take place in the spring. Hebron’s five students will join other qualified and motivated singers from around the state, Presque Isle to Berwick, to perform world-class music at The University of Maine.
