Ms. Ashley Paulson’s ninth-grade health and wellness class was joined by Ms. Amanda Miller who led the students in a farm-to-table nutrition lesson as they worked on a spring community garden project. The students learned about nitrogen, carbon, and earthworms as they relate to healthy soil and the creation of nutrient-dense food. The students cleared beds from winter debris, pruned raspberry canes, and spread organic compost from recent Alumnus Carter Richmond’s family farm. Later this week, Ms. Paul’s community service crew will plant early frost-tolerant crops including peas, spinach, and more with Ms. Emily Bonis, who organizes Hebron’s Community Garden.
