Message from the Acting Head of School, Mary Warner
To know Hebron Academy is to know loyalty. Something about this campus, the red brick buildings settled deep into the greens of the playing fields and spruce, poplar and pine-covered hills, inspires a sense of belonging in all who spend time here. Hebron is an exceptional place. Our 1,500-acre campus stretches from the Class of 1970 Outdoor Center at Marshall Pond up to Little Singepole Mountain and Hall’s Pond, which is so clear and clean that it provides water to the school and the surrounding community.
The sense of time and Hebron’s place in that continuum is instilled in the smooth steps of the 1804 Sturtevant School Building and the grasses around the Victory Bell. Alumni return to follow in their own footsteps and new students begin a year with a Convocation in the Bowl, gathered together to set goals for the upcoming school year. While rooted in history, Hebron looks forward and seeks its place in the future.
At Convocation, we spoke about place, purpose and people. It defines who we are at Hebron. Our focus is to celebrate the beautiful and pristine natural space we inhabit; to help our students seek purpose; and to learn to see the people with whom we live. We are all here as part of Hebron’s story.
Together, we set goals, in the classroom, in athletics and fitness, and in health and wellness -- mind, body, and spirit. We offer student experiences from a junior boarding program to a PG program and classes that range from freshman year composition to Engineering to an Independent Study in Digital Documentary Making. It’s all here, along with an advisory system, academic guidance team and college placement.
Hebron prepares students for an evolving and increasingly global world. We are proud of our diverse community; our student body includes students from Maine as well as students from 13 different states and 23 countries. We are excited to welcome everyone and to have them be part of this special place.
We are so pleased that you have discovered Hebron Academy. Please get to know us by exploring this website, or even better, by scheduling a visit to campus. We look forward to getting to know you.
