This is a 12-month position 

The Housekeeper position is a full-time, year-round position that works under the supervision of the Director of Buildings and Grounds. The Housekeeper position is expected to assist as directed in support of various campus activities and essential functions. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • A housekeeper performs a variety of housekeeping/cleaning jobs, as required, in campus buildings and residences. 

  • Responsible for the daily and periodic cleaning of classroom buildings, offices, dormitories, gymnasium, student union and health center.

  • Daily cleaning includes sterilizing and restocking bathrooms, sweeping, washing and vacuuming hallways and common areas, removing trash and washing chalkboards/whiteboards.

  • Periodic cleaning includes stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, washing blinds, walls, windows and dusting. 

  • Other duties as directed by Buildings and Grounds Director.



  • Must be able to work well both in a team environment and independently. 

  • Must have the ability to recognize problems as they arise and bring them to the attention of the Director of the Buildings and Grounds department.

  • Must be able to follow safety guidelines and exercise good judgment in all aspects of responsibility.

  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs, and have a valid driver’s license.
