Hebron awards merit scholarships based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership skills, extracurricular strengths and other criteria guided by the Academy.
Completion of the application is all that is required for consideration for Hebron’s merit awards by the Admissions Committee. Please reach out to admissions@hebronacademy.org with any questions about how to apply to scholarships.
Alumni Scholarship
Established in June 1988. Awarded annually to an academically and athletically talented student whose parent is an alumnus/ae of HA.
David H. Arsenault '79 Memorial Scholarship
To honor a returning student who has demonstrated qualities of promise of growth and determination and who has achieved high academic record.
Ralph Gould '41 Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is from Maine and demonstrates need. Scholarship initiated in 1997.
The Jill M. and Paul D. Kaneb'60 Endowed Scholarship
For a motivated student who would not otherwise be able to attend Hebron Academy.
The Lunder Family Scholarship, Est. 1995 ('52)
Given to a returning student from Maine who exhibits outstanding character and promise.
Ladd MacMillan Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Ladd MacMillan, beloved math department chair and outstanding baseball & hockey coach at Hebron Academy.
Maine Academic Scholarship (The Ness Family)
Given to a returning student who is an outstanding scholar from Maine who displays outstanding moral character throughout school life.
Noyes Family Scholarship Fund (Ted '58)
Given to a Maine resident who is a student of character and promise who demonstrates the need for financial assistance.
The McCormack Scholarship ('62)
One or more awards made annually based on academic achievement, athletic and artistic contributions and community leadership to students who enroll full time, including new students. Preference given to boarders in grade 9 or 10.
The Penley Family Scholarship
Awarded to a full time student with good academic standing and above average GPA. Preference given to those who demonstrate financial need and who are from or live in Oxford County
Payson S. Perkins '53 Scholarship
Given to a returning Hebron Academy student who is an outstanding scholar & athlete from Maine.
Readers' Digest Endowed Scholarship established by DeWitt and Lila Acheson Wallace in 1974
Additional amount added in 1981, for students from middle income families beyond their first year at Hebron Academy.
Dean E. Ridlon '53 Scholarship
Given to a deserving young man or woman from Maine, Dean's home state. Recipient should be of high moral character & show high academic potential.
John Sherden '56- The Sherden Scholarship
The Sherden scholarship will support Financial Aid for a student appointed from the West Point Association of Graduates of Hebron to enrich his/her academic endeavors prior to attending the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Scott E. Smith '87 Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Scott E. Smith, class of 1987 who died in a tragic accident on 8/5/85. Returning student who share's Scott's love of Hebron Academy, active in sports and outdoor activities, diligent student, enhances the quality of Hebron life with humor and good will and who, like Scott, exhibits a true concern and caring for others.
David and Lynette Snow Scholarship ('72)
Established in 2009, is awarded annually to a deserving young man or woman who has demonstrated outstanding character and leadership potential and who carries a strong grade point average.
Witter Family Scholarship
Preference given to a student in high academic standing.
The Jay Woolsey Scholarship Established 1997
To honor the qualities Jay Woolsey exemplified for more than 3 decades at Hebron Academy; academic excellence, hard work and good character.
