International Students
Since our opening in 1804, Hebron Academy has valued our international student population.
Our international students gain a comprehensive education at a top American secondary school, and our domestic students benefit from the presence of classmates from around the world. A class discussion, dorm meeting, or team practice can be transformed when students from different backgrounds share their perspectives and exchange stories from their unique experiences. After graduation, with more than 1,000 alumni in 25 countries around the world, our students are virtually guaranteed to connect with a Hebron alum wherever their career path may take them.
International Student Requirements
Testing Requirements
A recent Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or Duolingo language proficiency test result is required for all students for whom English is a second language. Please contact Pedro Davisson, Senior Associate Director of International Admissions, if you have questions about testing requirements.
English Language Requirements
Hebron Academy offers three levels in the English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program. Students complete proficiency testing on campus to assess English language ability prior to any course placements. ESOL is not included in tuition.
Interview
All applicants are required to complete an interview as part of the admissions process. Interviews can be conducted in person or virtually via videoconferencing. Please contact the Admission office at 207-966-5225 or admission@hebronacademy.org to arrange an interview.
Student Visas
Before international students can apply at a US Embassy or Consulate for a student visa, they must first apply to and be accepted by Hebron Academy. Upon acceptance and payment of the deposit and required fees, families will receive the Form I-20. Please visit the U.S. Immigration and Customs website for steps to navigate the student visa process.
