At the time of this email, our track and field team is competing at Hyde School for the first interscholastic competition of the spring! We also look forward to our games scheduled for tomorrow: Baseball and boys tennis host Gould Academy while softball and girls tennis take on the Huskies in Bethel.
Unfortunately, with the weather that's moved in we are forced to cancel the games scheduled for Saturday, April 17th. We will, however, reschedule baseball, softball, and girls and boys tennis to Tuesday, April 27th. Softball and girls tennis will host, while our baseball and boys tennis teams will travel that day; all games will be against Kents Hill School.
A couple of scheduling updates from the Athletic Office. We happily re-scheduled two games on April, 24th to make time for our students to get their vaccination shots in the afternoon! The updated times are as follows:
“Paige was an integral part of Hebron Girls ice hockey program. Paige’s strong skating, work ethic, and team-first mindset set her apart from others in the league. We will miss her as a leader in the locker room next season. We wish her good luck next year in beginning her college hockey career at Curry College.”
“Tea has been an important part of our Hebron Girls’ Hockey Program during her prep school career. Her size shot and defensive play propelled us to win some close games last season. She works hard on and off the ice and will be missed next year. We wish her all the best as she starts her college hockey career.”
We are excited to offer a variety of afterschool sports and activities for HAMS students in the spring term. Students can choose from the following activities: track and field, boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, baseball, softball, and dance. HAMS students have been sent a form to fill out if they would like to participate in one of these activities.
We are thrilled to report we have an interscholastic competition scheduled for boys and girls tennis, track and field, softball, and baseball! We’ve collaborated with our MAISAD school partners, all of whom take part in similar health and safety protocols in their respective communities, and feel confident in our collective ability to safely engage in the aforementioned sports this spring.
Koki Matsuwaki ‘21 signing his commitment letter to play soccer at Lasell University this fall.
Koki has been a Lumberjack for all 4-years of high school and has made a tremendous impact on our community.
“Creven has been an integral member of the Hebron Men’s Soccer Team. Finding a place in one of the most successful programs in New England when he first arrived, Creven’s athletic prowess, defending strength, and tactical awareness was among the best that have come through the program in my tenure.
"Spring has found its way to the Hebron campus. The days are getting longer, the snow is melting, and the sounds of Softball are in the air like the crack of the bat can be heard from the Williams Center cage. This season is highly anticipated.
This Centennial will be a chance to honor one of Hebron's oldest traditions with the chance to welcome back alumni who recall glory days and great battles inside, and literally outside, on Robinson Arena ice; where Lumberjacks always bring the noise for their home team!
A great article was written about Nick Theodos '23 (on the right) in his local paper in Tewksbury, MA. In the midst of his recovery from an ACL injury, Nick is already looking forward to next season.
It's hard to believe but with spring break starting March 12th we only have three weeks left of winter sports. While this winter athletic season looks much different than any in our lifetime, there is still a lot to celebrate.
Owen Spring '22 has officially committed to St. Bonaventure University and will play lacrosse for them. St. Bonaventure is a Division I school in upstate New York.
Hebron Academy is excited to announce that Mr. Caddy Brooks has been named the new Athletic Director. Ms. Leslie "Mitzi" Guenther, while retiring at the end of this year, is excited to mentor Mr. Brooks as he transitions to his new role. Brooks joined Hebron Academy in the 2019-2020 year as a coach, faculty member, and dormitory advisor.
We are excited to celebrate our college-bound student-athletes! Tuesday, May 12th was Hebron's celebratory signing day.
Congratulations to Forest Pelletier '23 on competing in a virtual NEPSAC track meet! Over ninety student-athletes participated in the meet in a variety of events. Forest competed in both the 100m and the 400m races.
We had planned to hold our winter athletic awards when we returned to campus in late March, but quite a lot changed in a very short time! We thank you for your patience as we have had to adapt and adjust our ceremony. We are pleased to present the Winter Athletic Awards!
Mr. Eric Lundblade, history faculty and cross country coach, had been training to run a marathon this month in which he was hoping to set a personal record (PR). In light of current coronavirus pandemic circumstances, the marathon was canceled and his plans were squashed. However, he decided he would continue his training regardless.
