Athletics Recap October 8th

Varsity Football vs. Holderness- L- 6-36

It was a beautiful day for Homecoming and for football. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a great day for the LumberJacks. With numerous mistakes, fumbles and penalties the Jacks fell to Holderness 36-6. The team did rally together and with several players playing new positions and younger players stepping up the Jacks did put one in the endzone. The team will prepare for another road trip next week as the face The Millbrook School next Saturday.

Soccer Girls' Varsity vs. Hyde- W- 9-0

GVS played a great game against Hyde yesterday, earning the first win of the season and a shutout for B$!!!

Hebron had over 30 shots on goal, with the Hyde Keeper saving 13 (many shots went into the wilderness once again!)

Hyde had one shot on goal.

We ended the first half with 3-0. Goals scored by Belle Beauchesne, Hannah Sullivan, and Abby McDonald respectively.

Throughout the second half we had goals from: Abby McDonald, Sofia Gualtieri, another from Belle, Sam Ickowicz (though likely from a deflection off Hyde's defense), another from Hannah, and finally a great shot by Riley Phillips!!!!!

Felt great to ring the bell!

Soccer Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Hyde- L- 0-6

Hebron and Hyde kicked off on Allen Field for Hebron’s homecoming weekend match-up. Hebron had several injured players on the sideline and Hyde scored four goals before the half. Hebron came out stronger in the second half, but struggled to put attacking pressure on Hyde, whose keeper remained untested. Hyde scored twice more before the final whistle, leaving the final at 0-6 in Hyde’s favor.

Keeper Saves: 6

Soccer Boys JV vs. Hyde- W- 3-0

On homecoming, the Lumberjacks took on Hyde and won 3-0. It was a tight game with the first half ending in a tie. Hebron missed many chances in the first half. Hyde also missed some opportunities in the first half but the Jacks dominated play. It was a matter of time that the team in green would put one in the back of the net. It was a great game for the home crowd. Next up, away at Brewster.

The Girls Varsity Soccer team fought a tough battle against Gould during the Homecoming game on Saturday, September 30. The Lumberjacks struggled to possess the ball throughout the first half but came back in the second half firing a series of shots at Gould's net, scoring a goal and securing a penalty shot. Both Haliegh Holmes '24 and Jae Williams '26 held tight and saved shots from going into the net. It was a tough loss, but the team played well and worked hard until the final whistle blew.
