The Lumberjack Ledger

Athletics Recap October 3-7

HAMS Soccer: 2-1 Beating Bonny Eagle

We had our second game of the season on Tuesday, 10/4, at Bonny Eagle Middle school. The HAMS squad was a little sluggish at the start of the game from the hour bus ride against a solid Bonny Eagle team. The play was back and forth for most of the first half. Near the end of half, Isaac Sullivan sent in a beautiful corner kick into the 18 which Bayden Cyr-Guzowski headed into the back of the net. The lumberjacks held on to that 1-0 lead at the half. During the second half, Bonny Eagle turned up the pressure and finally found the back of the net evening the score at 1-1. Later in the second half, Sawyer Shanaman took a great cross from Will Malloy and lifted a shot over the goaltender’s head for a 2-1 lead. Hebron finished the game strong to hold on the 2 to 1 victory! Once again, Nolan Heath was solid in net. The defensive line of Riley Phillps, Bradley Powers, Oscar Diffin, Howie Wu and Perrin Gill kept us in the game with great play throughout the game, and Corbin Poussard, Allen Saracho, Finn Miller and Alexandra Hounsell at the front kept the ball moving forward toward the opposing goal throughout the game.

Boys JV Soccer vs. Kents Hill- 3-2 loss

The Lumberjacks lost another tough one today 3-2. They took a 2-0 lead and out played rivals Kents Hill for the first forty minutes. They were passing beautifully and playing like a team. The second half was a different story. Kents Hill woke up and played well. It was a battle and both teams worked hard. The last goal was scored with one minute left on the clock. Another heart break for the Hebron JV Boys team. Up next Hyde on Homecoming weekend!!!

Fall 2022 Activity and Athletic Awards

At the first morning meeting of the spring semester, many Lumberjacks were recognized for their accomplishments during fall after-school activities and athletics. The awards ceremony honored individuals in after-school activities for their dedicated efforts, leadership, and improvements to their after-school commitments. Although the awards are presented to individual students, a little bit of every Hebron community member goes into these achievements.

Hebron Football Season Recap

The 2022 LumberJack football season was one for the record books. Not only did they turn it completely around from last year. They went from 1-5 to 5-1 within 1 football season. This team accomplished so many goals, but it was all due to the entire team working together for the common goal of getting better and winning football games.
