The Lumberjack Ledger

Updates from the Athletics Department

At the time of this email, our track and field team is competing at Hyde School for the first interscholastic competition of the spring! We also look forward to our games scheduled for tomorrow: Baseball and boys tennis host Gould Academy while softball and girls tennis take on the Huskies in Bethel. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, we will not allow any family or friends of our student-athletes on our campus to watch games/matches. Similarly, Hyde School and Gould Academy also have closed campuses and will not allow any spectators.

Looking ahead to next week we were unfortunately forced to cancel our softball and baseball games with Kents Hill School on Tuesday, April 27th. Boys and girls tennis are still scheduled to play on that day with boys tennis traveling to Kents Hill and girls tennis hosting here at Hebron!

Without the prospect of interscholastic competition, it's been a trying year for many of our programs. Our students and coaches, however, remained positive, creative, and hard-working. With five teams competing this weekend, we have the opportunity to ring the Victory Bell for the first time all year. Undoubtedly, if a program does sound the bell, it will be a symbolic win felt by all of our athletic programs and community! Looking forward to a weekend of good sportsmanship, fair play, competition, and hearing a familiar sound back on campus! Let's go, 'Jacks!

Athletics Update

Unfortunately, with the weather that's moved in we are forced to cancel the games scheduled for Saturday, April 17th. We will, however, reschedule baseball, softball, and girls and boys tennis to Tuesday, April 27th. Softball and girls tennis will host, while our baseball and boys tennis teams will travel that day; all games will be against Kents Hill School.

Spring Sports Competition Schedule: A few Updates

A couple of scheduling updates from the Athletic Office. We happily re-scheduled two games on April, 24th to make time for our students to get their vaccination shots in the afternoon! The updated times are as follows:

Paige Bourgoin commits to play hockey at Curry College

“Paige was an integral part of Hebron Girls ice hockey program. Paige’s strong skating, work ethic, and team-first mindset set her apart from others in the league. We will miss her as a leader in the locker room next season. We wish her good luck next year in beginning her college hockey career at Curry College.”

Tea Miles Commits to play Hockey at Salem State

“Tea has been an important part of our Hebron Girls’ Hockey Program during her prep school career. Her size shot and defensive play propelled us to win some close games last season. She works hard on and off the ice and will be missed next year. We wish her all the best as she starts her college hockey career.”
