It's hard to believe but with spring break starting March 12th we only have three weeks left of winter sports.
While this winter athletic season looks much different than any in our lifetime, there is still a lot to celebrate. The alpine ski team took part in their first race of the season at Kents Hill School last week. In addition to senior Brody Hathorne's podium finish, our racers enjoyed the opportunity to get off campus and compete against Gould and Kents Hill School- big smiles upon their return! To that end, we've been able to safely shuttle our alpine ski racers, competitive snowboard team and recreational skiers and snowboarders to the mountains five days a week for training and good old fashioned fun.
In the absence of interscholastic competition, our boys and girls hockey programs begin their COVID Cup matchup on campus tonight at 7:00 pm. This five game, winner-takes-all series will have limited viewers in the rink, and will also be made available over live-stream. Keep an eye out for player bios and individual intro videos!
Of course this is not the winter athletic season anyone hoped for, but our students continue to demonstrate their resiliency, adaptability and resolve. We are proud to have another fun, productive and safe week in the books and look forward to the next one!
