Basketball Girls Varsity
Hebron's girls basketball team competes in the MAISAD and in the Maine Principals' Association Class C South division. The Lumberjacks are a group that focuses on tough defense, spreading the floor out on offense and working hard to get up and down the floor quickly during games. Hebron is lucky to have one of the best hardwood courts in New England as the floor is put down in the Williams Family Athletic Center from November through March each year. There is also a practice court with four hoops for shooting practice both in and out of the season.
Over a four-year stretch from 2015-16 to 2018-19, the girls' basketball team won at least 10 games each season and earned a home playoff game in the MPA Class C South tournament. During that time, the Lumberjacks reached the MAISAD Final all four years, earning the league title in both 2016 and 2017. The team has traditionally been bolstered by strong play in the backcourt and a talented front court who works hard on the glass.
Coach Bennett enters her first season with Hebron Academy. She comes to Hebron after a successful playing career at Division II Saint Michael's College in Colchester, VT. A four-year player for the Purple Knights in the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference, Bennett appeared in 96 career contests, drawing 35 starts. She served as team captain her senior year and was named to the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll 8 times during her career.
