We are looking to be as accommodating as possible for those students traveling via plane and therefore have less flexibility with arrival times. Once we have a better sense of these students' travel plans, we will be able to finalize the arrival schedule for all.

We hope to be able to notify students of their arrival date by the first week of August.

Families can expect to receive detailed instructions regarding pre-arrival and arrival testing the first week in August.

Exposure during athletics and work outside of the home certainly poses an enhanced risk of exposure. Given that this exposure risk during this pre-arrival period is something that could compromise the health and safety of our entire community, we would have to ask that any student who is unable to self-quarantine for that two-week period either forgo these athletic and employment endeavors for those two weeks or delay their arrival to campus to ensure that they have two weeks of self-quarantine prior to arrival on campus. While a late start is not advisable, we could accommodate this request by allowing your student to engage in remote orientation/learning during this time.

The school will facilitate opportunities for students to sort through their belongings after arrival and set aside those unnecessary items for parent pick-up at a later date. We will be in touch with more definitive detail in the weeks ahead. 

Online learning throughout the fall trimester will be different than last spring in that it will be synchronous with on-campus classes. The details regarding on-line learning during the quarantine period are still being finalized with regard to the start date as we are also planning to devote a significant amount of time during quarantine to orientation activities and health and safety education. The daily academic schedule itself will be consistent with the daily on-site schedule that the students will transition to once quarantine is finished.

Yes, absolutely. Weather permitting, the students will be able to get outside each day with their cohort to exercise and socialize.

There will be no in-person athletic team gatherings during quarantine, as we must adhere to strict quarantine protocols requiring students to limit exposure to only those students in their cohorts.

Details regarding fall season athletics are still being worked out as we await further guidance from the CDC and other public health and professional organizations. We will plan to update families as soon as we learn more and finalize our plans. That being said, we are committed to offering students and teams a variety of options to continue to facilitate athletic engagement and development (strength and conditioning, skill development, team building, etc.) even if interscholastic competition is not possible. 

We will continue to work closely with those in public health to determine the safest course of action moving forward and should the COVID climate improve, we would modify our programming and protocols accordingly. That being said, given current public health projections it is unlikely that this quarantine period would be able to be eliminated by January. 

Most likely they will be learning online for a portion of their class time.  We are identifying other spaces where classes can be held on campus, including splitting a class between two adjacent classrooms.  When neither of those options is available, the class will be split into two groups, where each group meets in person two of the four periods per week and online two of the four periods per week.

There will be screening protocols in place each day with clear guidelines on what they need to do depending on the severity of the symptoms.  If your child is displaying any COVID-like symptoms, they will either need to stay home or be in the health center.  However, if your child is feeling well enough, they will be expected to attend class online.
