Over the beautiful Memorial day weekend, Hebron Academy celebrated commencement, an important rite of passage. We proudly congratulate the class of 2015 in joining the ever-growing family of Hebron Academy alumni.
With so many brilliant and creative minds now unleashed into the world, there is no doubt that those of class 2015 will change the world and inspire the people that they meet on the next steps of their journey. The parting bit of advice from John King, Head of School, to the graduating class was uplifting, “The point is – make a difference… and you, each one of you, have already done that. You made a mark on Hebron, and more importantly, you made a mark on each other.”
Hebron Academy’s commencement was just under an hour and twenty minutes as the seniors walked the Senior Path which starts in the front of iconic Strutevant Hall and ends at the Athletic Center. Their fellow classmates lined the pathway and fell in behind them to support the students who had guided and inspired them with their leadership over the past year. Speeches from Ye Tao ’15, Rachel Jurek ’15, and Head of School John King marked the occasion as well as the distribution of awards before each student walked across the stage and with a firm handshake or heartfelt hug received their diploma.
Rachel Jurek ’15 left her fellow students with this bit of advice, “And remember, it is not the moment when you actually ring the bell but that moment of excitement when you realize that together, as a team, we all get to grab onto the rope. Congratulations Class of 2015. We did it.”
