Hockey Seasons Wind Down for Lumberjack Alumni

By: Lumberjack Athletics
The month of February brings with it the end of the regular season for college hockey players. For Hebron, that means that a number of alumni are winding down their seasons and in some cases their playing careers. Here is a look at how the 2016-17 season has gone for the Lumberjack alumni up to this point.

Shawn Cameron '14 has played in 25 games in his first season at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has recorded three goals and five assists, and the Tigers have five games left on their schedule before the Atlantic Hockey Tournament starts on March 3rd.

Joey Collins '11 has helped lead the way once again for Southern New Hampshire University as he recorded 10 goals and 20 assists in 25 games for the Penmen thus far. His last game will take place on February 11th when SNHU takes on Austin Goldstein '14 and the Stonehill Skyhawks. Goldstein has played in eight games for Stonehill this season recording two assists.

Mike Kelly '13 opened the season with a game-winning goal for UMass-Dartmouth, and he has continued to be a big influence in the Corsairs attack. He has nine goals and nine assists in 18 games. Six of his performances have been multi-point affairs, and he looks to help the Corsairs battle for a playoff spot with five games remaining in their schedule. They currently hold a 12-8 record on the 2016-17 campaign.

At St. Anselm's College, Lawrence Taylor '12 and Jon Palotta '14 are representing the Lumberjacks well as the Hawks have clinched the top seed for the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference tournament. On the season, Taylor - the captain of the Hawks - has recorded three goals and six assists in 21 games at defense. Palotta has played in 23 games and has scored four goals while recording nine assists. They will finish their regular season this upcoming weekend before the conference tournament begins later this month.

At Becker College, defenseman Bryan Parsons '13 has seen the ice in 18 games while adding two goals and five assists to his career statistics. His senior season has four games remaining, and the final game will be at Endicott on February 18th.

Sean Munzing '15 will end his regular season for Franklin Pierce when they host Brian Pickett '14 and Assumption College on February 11th. Both defensemen have had a lot of action for their teams this winter. Munzing has played in 22 games for the Ravens while Pickett has appeared in 18 games for the Greyhounds. Both players have one assist to their names this winter.

The Hebron community will continue to follow these former Lumberjacks as the seasons come to a close over the next couple of weeks.
