Husson Eagles Using Hebron Alums Toward Success

By: Lumberjack Athletics
The Husson University men's lacrosse team just reached the semifinals of the North Atlantic Conference playoffs, and two Hebron alumni have played their parts for the Eagles this season. Owen Richmond '16 and Mitch Spurr '16 have completed their freshman campaign, and they should be excited about their futures in college lacrosse.

Richmond was named NAC Rookie of the Week after two huge performances helped the Eagles reach the semis. In the final regular season game, Richmond grabbed seven ground balls and won 17 face-offs. In the quarterfinal contest against Maine Maritime, Richmond set the school record with 27 face-off wins - shattering the old record of 21. He also added three assists as he received his first NAC weekly honor. On the season, Richmond won 150 of the 259 face-offs he took part in, and ended his freshman season with 70 ground balls - finishing first in both statistics for the Eagles.

For Spurr, he saw action in all 14 of the games this season for Husson as he finished the spring with eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points, which was sixth on the team. His single game high came in a big win over Johnson State when Spurr recorded one goal and five assists.
