On Monday afternoon, Merrimack College earned their program's first national title when they beat St. Leo's in the NCAA Division II National Championship Game. The Warriors' backup face-off specialist is Davis Cronin '17.

Merrimack tied the record for most goals in a championship game across all three divisions and also set the record for largest margin of victory. Cronin took three fourth-quarter face-offs and the Warriors gained possession from two of them, including one ground ball from Cronin with 5:50 remaining in the contest.

On the season, Cronin won 28 of the 53 face-offs he attempted heading into the Final Four weekend. Cronin graduated from Hebron with back-to-back MAISAD Championships in 2016 and 2017 along with an appearance in the New England Small Schools Lacrosse Tournament (now the McCoy Cup).
