    EARLY CHILDCARE PROVIDER (EXTENDED DAY)
    Part-time (3:30pm to 5:30pm, Monday - Friday)

    The Hebron Academy Early Learning Center (HAELC) is hiring an experienced early childcare provider to serve as Extended Day Childcare Provider for Infant/Toddler Classroom (ages 3 months to 3 years). Serving children ages 3 months to 5 years, HAELC’s philosophy draws largely from that of the Reggio Emilia approach and emphasizes the incorporation of social/emotional learning into all aspects of curriculum and daily routine. HAELC additionally places a significant emphasis on cultivating an appreciation for nature by taking advantage of the myriad of opportunities for children to explore and discover in the extensive natural spaces available outdoors within the greater Hebron Academy campus.

    Requirements:

    Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree and have at least three years of experience working in early childhood settings. In addition, candidates must have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate early childhood practices, the ability to collaborate well with others, and the ability to build strong relationships with children and families.

Overall Responsibilities for Faculty

All faculty members at Hebron Academy are expected to build relationships with students that foster learning and growth and that enhance the mission of the school. In a boarding environment, faculty should expect to participate fully in the life of the school--as teacher, coach, dorm parent, mentor, advisor, advocate. In addition to classes, all faculty are assigned duties during the afternoons (coaching or leading activities), in the evenings, and on weekends.

Specific Faculty Responsibilities & Expectations

Faculty are expected to:
  • Teach four academic sections, two or three ‘preps’.
  • Be available for one-on-one or group help for students.
  • Serve as an advisor to a group of students.
  • Coach or lead afternoon activities in at least two seasons.
  • Perform dormitory, weeknight, and weekend duties.
  • Residential (dormitory) faculty are on duty one or two weeknights and every third weekend.
  • Non-dormitory faculty perform weeknight duty and are part of weekend duty teams assigned to take trips or lead on-campus activities. Duty teams rotate every third weekend.
  • Meet all professional responsibilities.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development.
  • Participate fully in the life of the school whether living in a dormitory, in school housing, or off-campus.
  • Be a presence.
  • Be a role model for students.
  • Represent the best interests of Hebron Academy at all events on and off campus.
