    MATHEMATICS TEACHER - Upper School
    Hebron Academy is seeking a dynamic, flexible, and forward-thinking faculty member to join our Mathematics department for the 2019-2020 school year. Our faculty participate fully in the life of the school -- as teacher, coach, dorm parent, mentor, and advisor.

    At Hebron Academy, students are at the center of learning. Hebron’s faculty, led by our academic principles, equip students to become effective communicators, adaptable learners, responsible global citizens, and poised to lead.

    We are looking for an individual who will:

    ● facilitate student-driven learning experiences with an emphasis on 21st-century skills.
    ● be able to teach varying levels of mathematics, including but not limited to Geometry.
    ● be committed to nurturing the whole child by caring for the emotional and social needs of each student.
    ● provide a supportive and rigorous college preparatory learning environment.
    ● be excited to design classroom experiences that focus on students at the center of learning.

    SCIENCE TEACHER - Upper School
    Hebron Academy is looking for an experienced, dynamic, and forward-thinking teacher to join the science department for the 2019-2020 school year. The ideal candidate will be flexible to meet the needs of a growing department. With the current construction and near completion of a new science and engineering building, we will be expanding our course offerings in these areas and are looking for an innovative educator to join the team.

Our faculty participate fully in the life of the school--as teacher, coach, dorm parent, mentor, and advisor.

    ● Facilitate learning through student-driven inquiry methods rooted in scientific methodology. Individual must be familiar with 21st-century skills, growth mindset, experiential learning, as well as integrating technology into all aspects of the classroom.

    ● provide a supportive and rigorous college preparatory learning environment.
    ● be excited to help grow a science program with a focus on experiential learning and be a motivated self-starter to help create these changes.

    MUSIC TEACHER - Vocal Concentration
    Hebron Academy is seeking a dynamic, flexible, and forward-thinking faculty member to join our Visual and Performing Arts department for the 2019-2020 school year. This position is part-time as a music instructor, but other roles may be considered based on the experience of the candidate.

    At Hebron Academy, students are at the center of learning. Hebron’s faculty, led by our academic principles, equip students to become effective communicators, adaptable learners, responsible global citizens, and poised to lead.

    We are looking for an individual who will:

    • be primarily responsible for directing the school’s a cappella group, upper school chorus, middle school chorus, and vocal lessons
    • be familiar with 21st-century skills, growth mindset, experiential learning, as well as integrating technology into all aspects of classroom and ensemble work.
    • be committed to nurturing the whole child by caring for the emotional and social needs of each student
    • be enthusiastic and passionate about the arts and music. Recruitment and retention are a large part of the program and a successful candidate will have experience and ideas as to how to attract students to groups and courses.
    • co-plan and execute annual concerts, weekly music events, student participation in Districts and All-State, and other on-campus music activities.
    • take initiative, be organized, and have attention to detail. Many aspects of this job require strong time-management and communication skills.
    • collaborate on department-wide initiatives and events.
    A bachelor’s degree in the content area is required. Relevant teaching experience is preferred but other experience and qualifications will be considered. Additionally, piano accompaniment skills and the ability to play other musical instruments are preferred.     COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING MANAGER

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Work closely with the Director of Admissions and the Director of Advancement to develop and implement a broad, comprehensive, and strategic marketing and branding plan designed to promote enrollment and fundraising.

    Full time, year-round position.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Support the development of content and execution of the annual marketing and campaign plans that engage internal and external constituents in the support and promotion of the school.

    Oversee the production of a variety of materials meant to increase the school’s visibility and competitive positioning, and
    enhance the public’s perception of the school.
    Collaborate with the Admissions team and the Advancement Office to:
    ● Develop strategies to recruit prospective students and engage alumni and families.
    ● Develop a comprehensive publications program (concept, design, content, editorial, and production for paper and electronic communications) that reaches and influences the school’s target audiences.
    ● Writes press releases
    Shape and maintain the strategic and creative direction of the school’s website.
    Manage an integrated online presence on social media platforms.
    Work across all departments to trumpet student activities and successes.
    Assist with writing speeches for Head of School.
    Cultivate and maintain working relationships between the academy and the media
    Supervise professional consultants contracted to address communication and marketing goals.

    OTHER DUTIES:
    Participation in occasional evenings and weekends in support of special academy events required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor’s degree required.
    Experience in communication, marketing and/or educational setting preferred.
    Proven ability to effectively lead, manage, and inspire a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment with multiple creative projects.
    Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail are essential, along with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Faculty Responsibilities

In a boarding environment, faculty participate fully in the life of the school--as teacher, coach, dorm parent, mentor, advisor, advocate. In addition to classes, faculty are assigned duties during the afternoons (coaching or leading activities), in the evenings, and on weekends.

Faculty are expected to:
  • Teach four academic sections, two or three ‘preps’.
  • Be available for one-on-one or group help for students.
  • Serve as an advisor to a group of students.
  • Coach or lead afternoon activities in at least two seasons.
  • Perform dormitory, weeknight, and weekend duties.
  • Residential (dormitory) faculty are on duty one or two weeknights and every third weekend.
  • Non-dormitory faculty perform weeknight duty and are part of weekend duty teams assigned to take trips or lead on-campus activities. Duty teams rotate every third weekend.
  • Meet all professional responsibilities.
  • Seek opportunities for professional development.
  • Participate fully in the life of the school whether living in a dormitory, in school housing, or off-campus.
  • Be a presence.
  • Be a role model for students.
  • Represent the best interests of Hebron Academy at all events on and off campus.
