My Hebron Stories

“The residence hall at Hebron Academy is more than a ‘dorm room’, it’s a home. When I arrived at Hebron, I was shy and afraid to try my English. That changed pretty fast when I learned how to build relationships in a place with so much diversity. Being invited into faculty homes for floor meetings made me more comfortable interacting with all the students in the residence hall and across campus. Everyone at Hebron had to open their minds, try a little harder, and become involved--being active on campus helps you connect! Teachers knew me as more than just a student; they knew what I was interested in and they knew my parents and my little brother because he’s now a student at Hebron.

I go to college in New York City, and every Thanksgiving my apartment is full of my Hebron friends: we’re a big family. When I come back to Hebron to visit my brother, I realize how much I appreciate that quiet, peaceful place. I miss the sky, the stars, and the trees at Hebron. Most of all, though, I miss the kind people.”
