Reminder: Arrival Testing and Return to Campus: Boarding Students

To ensure a safe return for all students to campus, we will follow a similar plan to the one we used in August. Arrival days for boarding students are Friday, January 15th and Saturday, January 16th.

Please begin an at-home quarantine 14 days prior to your on-campus arrival date.

You must have a pre-arrival test done no more than 5 days prior to your arrival on campus.  The results of this test must be sent to healthcenter@hebronacademy.org before you arrive on campus.  If we don't have your test results, you will not be allowed on campus and may have to find alternative housing at your expense while you wait for the pre-arrival test to return.  This will delay your return to campus and your return to in-person learning.

Please be aware we cannot allow late arrivals. It is incredibly difficult for a student arriving late to quarantine by themselves when the rest of the campus is not.

You will be assigned an arrival/testing time on  Friday, January 15, or Saturday, January 16 from the information you provide on your travel form. If you have not turned it, please complete and return by Wednesday, December 16th.

If you are traveling back to campus by flight and are being picked up by school transportation, your times will be assigned for you.

Winter Travel Form

Testing will be done on campus at the Atwood Health Center (45 Perkins Drive).  Once the test is complete and you have dropped off any medication expected by the health center, you may be dropped off at your dorm by your parent.  Parents may not, at any time, exit the car.

You will go into quarantine again in your room until the arrival test results have returned.  During this time, meals will be delivered to your room and you will be provided with the opportunity to engage in a variety of remote activities. When possible, you will be able to go on walks with a faculty member.

As a reminder, any violation of quarantine may result in an extended quarantine period for you and any student you come in contact with.  You can expect the test results in 48-72 hours.  Cohorts will be released from quarantine together.

Once your arrival test result has returned, you will be allowed scheduled activities with your cohort that are outside, in the gym, or in LePage.  You may not be in the hallway or another students’ rooms at any time. Cohort spaces will be closed and off-limits until in-person classes begin.

Please follow all health and safety guidelines at all times and the instructions of your dorm faculty.

Boarding students will retest on 7-10 days after your arrival test.  We will update you in January when that testing will occur.   Once the second test is back you will remain in quarantine until in-person classes begin, except for the scheduled cohort time.

We hope to begin in-person classes on Monday, Feb. 1 as long as test results return in a timely manner and all students follow the health and safety guidelines and quarantine as directed.

We understand that two weeks of quarantine may be challenging, but it is necessary for the prevention of community transmission and a critical component to the safe and continued opening of our school.

Please watch for updates and changes.
