Reminder for Students for Return to Campus in January 2021

Reminder for Students for Return to Campus in January 2021

Our health team offers important reminders for our return to campus in January.

Day students:

  • Begin your at-home quarantine by Jan. 2, 2021.
    • This means limit contact to only your family unit you currently live with.  No contact with any person outside of them.
  • Arrival testing is on Sunday, Jan 17th at the Atwood Health Center.
    • Please be sure you have signed up for a time here.
  • Return home immediately after your test.
    • Continue  your quarantine at home in order to return to in-person learning
  • Retesting will be 7-10 days after your first test.
    • Watch for a date and sign up.
    • Return home after this test and continue your quarantine until in-person classes.
  • We will notify you and your parent if your test returns positive.

Boarding students

  • Begin at home quarantine two weeks before your arrival day on campus.
    • This means limiting your contact to only those people in your immediate family.
  • We will not allow late arrivals this term due to the difficulty a student has quarantining by themselves.
    • Any student delaying their return even by a day delays their cohort from release with the rest of the boarding community.  Please plan to arrive on Jan. 15 or 16.
  • Pre-arrival testing within 5 days of your arrival to campus. Please send the results to health@hebronacademy.org.
    • No student will be allowed on campus without a negative pre-arrival test.
  • Arrival testing when you arrive on campus.
    • All testing is done at the Atwood Health Center.
    • After testing you will go to your dorm and quarantine in your room until your cohort is released, hopefully in 48-72 hours after arrival.
  • 7-10 days after your arrival test you will have a second test and return to finish your quarantine until in-person classes begin.

Please remember

Following all health and safety guidelines and the instruction of faculty are important so that your quarantine is not extended and for the health and safety of the whole community.  If you do not follow guidelines, you run the risk of extending your quarantine and that of any student you come in contact with.

  • Wear a mask when you answer the door of your room, or at any time you are out of your room;
  • Maintain 6 feet distance from anyone;
  • Only one student in a bathroom at a time;
  • Do not go into another student's room or socialize in the hallway, even just standing in your doorway.
