Student Life

Student life is not just a weekend event, it’s 24/7! Community is at the heart of all that we are and all that we do.

There’s a sense of belonging and a sense of pride in being a student at Hebron. There are no cliques and it’s not uncommon for students here to know everyone’s name! From dining hall greetings at breakfast through to the day's last event, you can count on your friends and the faculty to have a welcoming smile and a lending hand.

It’s a great day to be a Lumberjack!

Why We Love Life at Hebron

What I love about the LIFE program is that it helps transform the dorms into a home-like experience- with a large family. Whether we are having a late night breakfast buffet after study hall during finals week, or having small group discussions on topics such as sleep hygiene and nutrition, it always brings faculty and students closer together.  Molly Paul, Faculty, Halford Dorm Head

From classes and activities to public speaking, Hebron is intentional about developing students into lifelong learners and helping them discover their best self in all areas of school life. Students find their voice at Hebron and as a faculty member, coach and dorm parent, I love being part of that process.

Ashley LeBlanc, Dean of Students

Hebron had some of the most passionate and resourceful instructors I have ever come across. For example, being in southern Maine, the foliage in Hebron is unmatched anywhere in New England. I remember writing poetry about it for English class and collecting leaves for Biology.  The faculty were great stewards and mentors; in the classroom, on the field and in life. Ryan Ratsep '13

When we were all together, hanging out on the porch, ringing the bell or making a slip and slide, those were some of the best times.

Community Lumberjack Events

School Meetings

Everyone goes...and no one wants to miss it! Morning meetings are student led, with regular theme-oriented days like Musical Mondays and the Lumberjack Games. And every school meeting finishes with a senior or postgraduate giving their Last Word speech. We sit with our advisory groups, we celebrate birthdays, we recognize the big moments and we also hold up each other. You are a part of something bigger than yourself and it feels good.

Community Events

Whether we're honoring academic achievement, enjoying world class musicians, or hearing from an Olympic athlete, Hebron community gatherings value our individual and mutual goals, cultures and ideas of fun. Saturday event workshops happen once a month and can coincide with seasonal celebrations and/or bring us together with a sense of giving back through community service activities.

School Spirit

Dress-up days, rivalry competitions, pep rallies, Mountain Day, Green and White, Ringing the Bell, talent shows, art openings, alumni visits...these are just a few of the ways the inner Lumberjack shines through.

Weekends

Each weekend is filled to the brim with a variety of options from Friday night campus dances to the first snow sledding party of the year, great excursions to sporting events, shopping trips and entertainment.  Check out a Sample Weekend at Hebron
