Josh is in his first year teaching at Hebron and is initiating a global classroom program called The Horizon Grand Prix where students design and build Hydrogen Fuel Powered RC Race Cars. These cars are then competitively raced against other schools with an opportunity to move up through a global circuit. Josh grew up in Maine, just 20 minutes from Hebron in the town of Sumner and studied Biological Science, Secondary Education, and Athletic Coaching, Nutrition, and Exercise as an undergraduate at the University of Maine at Farmington. He has been teaching at the high school level since 2006 and in 2010 he moved to the Bay Area- California where he lived for 11 years teaching Biology, Environmental Science, Anatomy & Physiology. Mr. Kanangas joins the Hebron Academy community where he will be teaching Engineering courses in grades 10-12. He is excited to help grow and expand the opportunities in Engineering and Computer Science for students here at Hebron Academy.

Mr. Kanangas is married to his wife Raquel who is a Preschool Teacher. They have a beautiful baby girl named Autumn who celebrated her first birthday this fall!
